Got a jacket in your closet that’s been waiting for a second life for months? Or a bag that could use a little upgrade? We’re opening BOHAUS on Saturday November 28th for an afternoon of creativity, specifically for the BIPOC community and their (chosen) family.
Give your clothes, bag or accessories a glow-up with studs, pearls, glitter or embroidery. Or get hands-on with a sewing machine, make adjustments or give your item a whole new look.
Joy (she/they) will be there to help and inspire you, and Shaquille (she/her) will help you get started with the sewing machine. We’ll bring the studs, pearls and all the other good stuff. You just bring your item!
For the BIPOC Community
BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous and People of Colour. So this afternoon is specifically for people of colour. You’re welcome to bring your (chosen) family along, too. Your bestie, partner, kids or another loved one is also welcome to join if they’re white. We ask that white people only attend as the plus-one of a BIPOC person, so we can intentionally keep this a safe space for the BIPOC community.
Not sure what you want to upcycle?
No stress! You can show up without any inspiration or piece to upcycle. We’ll bring more than enough materials to use! You can also bring along that project you’ve been meaning to finish for ages. What matters most is creating a safe space where we can come together as a BIPOC Queer community, with a little creative activity to bring us together.
